Headlines from CEPCF AGM May 9th, 2025.
Parent carers met representatives from Cheshire Easts’ SEND and transformation teams at the PCFs’ annual general meeting at the Canalside conference centre in Middlewich.
Parent carers had the opportunity to discuss their experiences of the SEND system and ask questions with Cheshire East professionals.
Parent carers also heard updates about future council plans for improving SEND provision and commissioning. These included,
Cheshire Easts “One Plan” which involves transformation for social care, health services, and SEND, and school expansion of SEND places.
Developing more training opportunities for parent carers and professionals, with a new workforce training plan for SEND professionals and the SEND team.
Updating the SEND Toolkit for inclusion, including removing the first concerns stage as this may be preventing children moving to the SEN support stage, and streamlining forms.
Parents also voted for the new steering group committee, and we will be introducing ourselves on Facebook and the next members update soon.
